HOPE Trips are a unique opportunity for donors, church partners, staff, and other key stakeholders to visit and learn about HOPE’s programs, meet the families we serve, and see the work of HOPE firsthand. This position is responsible for facilitating all logistics to Zimbabwe for HOPE trips, which are typically 4-7 days in length, and visits, which are typically half to full day in length. This includes traveling to host and facilitating the trip (up to 4-6 trips per year) and overseeing all details to ensure a logistically smooth experience that educates and inspires travelers towards deepened engagement with HOPE. Collaborating with the other HOPE Trips staff and across various departments and global programs, this person will demonstrate proficiency in setting and executing trip agendas, drafting, and adhering to trip communication plans, and detail-oriented planning while maintaining a high level of regard for consistent excellence in customer service and relational stewardship. At this level, the role typically involves independently coordinating trips and visits or contributing as a team member on larger or more complex travel initiatives.

 

This position will also facilitate content collection including traveling to the field and working with program leadership to deliver on all content requests and requirements. These efforts directly support the efforts of other HOPE departments including marketing, grants and reporting, and more.

 

In addition, this facilitator will also be responsible for organizing and facilitating local HOPE events, spiritual retreats, Global Summit site gatherings, and staff meetings among other events. This person will also provide high-level administrative and communications support to the country director by managing scheduling and travel logistics, documenting meetings, and assisting with strategic initiatives to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Responsibilities

Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision.

HOPE Trips & Travel Responsibilities (approximately 50% of the role)

  • Attend and facilitate logistics for all trips and visits to the HOPE program to create a meaningful traveler experience aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values
  • Logistics may include arranging lodging, transportation, meals, agenda planning, field visits, translation, and more.
  • Liaise with CSU staff to plan trip itineraries and arrange in-country logistics
  • Communicate trip and visit plans with senior leadership in the local program
  • Manage trip expenses and budgets (alongside the HOPE trips team)
  • Support as able additional requests for trip coordination in other HOPE programs, these requests would come from the CSU trips team, the regional director, and/or another country director

Content Collection (approximately 25% of the role)

  • Facilitate all content gathering efforts in collaboration with HOPE’s marketing team and grants team to provide stories and exposure to HOPE’s programs and impact
  • Liaise with content requestors and other departments on behalf of the local program to fulfill all requests and requirements for collecting stories, data, and other requested information

Local Program Support (approximately 25% of the role)

  • Plan, organize, and follow-up on HOPE funded events, spiritual retreats, staff meetings, and more
  • Responsible for communicating details of local events effectively and efficiently with the local team and event guests
  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks for the country director including managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence if needed; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for travel-related meetings.
  • Record meeting minutes and presentations and distribute to appropriate stakeholders
  • Plan, facilitate, and ensure the country director’s schedule is followed and respected.
  • Work closely and effectively with the country director to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Act as a "barometer," having a sense for the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the country director updated.
  • Other duties to support HOPE Zimbabwe initiatives as assigned by the country director.

Qualifications

  • Personal confession of the Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International
  • A minimum of two years of trip hosting experience, cross-cultural ministry or work experience, event coordination, and/or other related experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of their own national and local culture and can confidently and respectfully articulate it to international visitors, fostering meaningful cross-cultural engagement.
  • Knowledge and experience with NGO community development programs and or corporate social responsibility programs will be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, partners, and donors; excellent oral, written, customer service, and public communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management, keen attention to detail, and prioritization of competing demands/multiple deadlines.
  • Highly flexible, hardworking, and willing to work in stressful and frustrating situations as needed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think critically and take initiative in addressing new opportunities
  • Ability to interact sensitively and appropriately with others in different cultures
  • Ability to collaborate effectively cross-departmentally
  • Ability to lead and facilitate experiences for groups of up to 20-25 people
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of being reliability
  • Willingness to travel frequently, locally and potentially regionally throughout Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. May be required to travel up to 75 nights per year.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and passion for Christ-centered microenterprise development
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and able to walk up to 8 hours per day
  • Fluent communication in spoken and written English and ability to converse in Shona/Ndebele
  • A clean class 4 driver’s license will be an added advantage, including ability to drive on city roads as well as rough roads
