The Spiritual Integration Specialist is responsible to invest in the Christ-centered and discipleship culture of HOPE, provide strategy and implementation support for HOPE’s current spiritual integration (SI) efforts, assistance in improving all aspects of SI at HOPE.


Spiritual Integration Strategy and Implementation

Work with the Director of Spiritual Integration and field staff on developing best practices for serving the local church within the MFI and SCA models


Assist in the ongoing improvement and refinement of SI models for group lending, individual lending, and savings and credit associations


Work with field leaders and the operations team to ensure holistic annual planning, monitoring, and evaluation


Work with the Director of Spiritual Integration, Senior Director of MFI, Senior Director of SCA, and field leaders to develop client/member protection policies suitable for HOPE’s MFI and SCA networks.


Support programs in implementing approved client/member protection policies


   Oversee the regular evaluation of client/member protection policy implementation


Spiritual Formation and Discipleship

Assist in spiritual leadership for HOPE DSU-Kigali staff


Nurture the organization’s culture of Christ-centeredness by modeling discipleship and coordinating HOPE’s spiritual formation efforts (devotions, staff prayer, Faith in Practice, prayer days, etc.) as needed

Invest in intentional personal discipleship with members of the team as the Holy Spirit leads


Offer informal listening, counseling, and prayer to employees as needed  


Lateral Learning & Research

Liaise and coordinate with external resources (such as missiologists, students, and others) to share, learn, and evaluate sound transformation practices


Proactively research selected topics, potential partner organizations, tools, and training that may be beneficial to international programs


Promote lateral learning among HOPE staff and other stakeholders regarding best practices for discipleship of staff and clients


Collect and disseminate useful tools, resources, and practices to colleagues


Manage other specific projects as assigned by the Director of Spiritual



Provide administrative support for the Director of Spiritual Integration


Travel as needed (up to 75 nights per year) to the countries where HOPE operates


Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International


Experience and passion for spiritual formation and disciple making


Minimum 5-years of experience in Christ-centered international development and missions


Minimum 5-years of experience living and working on the African continent


Experience building and maintaining relationships with church leaders of diverse denominational backgrounds


Evident love for people and desire to be relational while accomplishing tasks


Demonstrated servant leadership


Highly developed implementation skills and attention to detail


Advanced written and verbal proficiency in English required. Advanced written and oral proficiency in French preferred.


Proficiency in other additional languages preferred.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and demonstrated ability to learn new systems


Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands/multiple deadlines


Ability to conduct high-level research and think strategically


Ability to handle fast-paced and dynamic work environment


Ability to take initiative and work independently


Ability to connect confidently with a variety of stakeholders


Ability and experience in effective cross-cultural communication and collaboration


Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, economics, business, or related field
